FSOD - Future Sound of Duneidn, somewhat of a household/flat-hold name in Dunedin if you have ever enjoyed the sweet sound of the reputable Bath St nightclub. Including the notorious Premise and Mune, the boys revolutionised the already rapidily fast-growing Drum N Bass scene in Dunedin a couple of years back and to date have played alongside and supported some of the biggest names to hit our shores. DJs/Producers include Friction, Nymfo, DJ Bailey, Pendulum, and some of our own and finest; State of Mind, Conchord Dawn and The Upbeats. Renowned for their seamless mixing and ability to draw a regular bandwagon of DNB fiends and fans to their gigs, the boys next highlight is playing at this years PHAT09 hosted, by of course, Phatclub based in Nelson.

Show your support once more to these boys as Im sure they will not disappoint. Their set time is 2pm on the 30th, right around the time you'll likely be being chased by large purple bat like creatures or such like. However as previous years have indicated, not given the lack of bats, the pit will undoubtedly be rocking and this year being thumped by FSOD's plethora of fine tunage. Mad props lads, respect!!!

MGMT gets Waxed

If you have yet to purchase MGMT's album, 'Oracular Spectacular', I would definately recommend it. Awesome summer album with tracks such as Electric Feel, Time to Pretend, Weekend Wars and Kids being a couple of personal favourites of mine.

However...another version of this fantastic duo has come to light. Another renowned duo in fact, Soulwax a.ka. 2 Many Djs, I stumbled across this remix of Kids. Enjoy.. MGMT-Kids(Soulwax Remix)

Six60 (Link to DL their tracks)

Six60...These boys are ripping the New Zealand music scene at the moment. Although they are in the exposure stage at present, they have a staunch following that continues to grow. Currently based out of Dunedin where they introduced themselves through several flawless performances at venues such as the Backstage & Refuel, the conglomeration of Kiwi Roots, Dub, Hip-hop and DNB has set them aside as true performers as well as talented musicians. Never shy to lay down a cover, they have got to be the closest to the real thing in regards to fan favourites such as Kora, Katchafire, Fat Freddy's Drop and the Black Seeds.

HOWEVER, the boys now have their own EP with a huge list of original tracks. At present they are trying to gain votes to grace 2009's Big Day Out stage...VOTE FOR THESE GUYS!!!! This is an example of Kiwi music capable of world stages that should not be deterred. For more info or gig bookings please email
LOVE PEACE & BEATS to Six60...Keep ripping!!!

Splash on the new scene

Thanks to all that attended last saturday night. I had a fun (but hard) time working a crowd that wasn't used to the more non-commercial elements of my set. But all the same, got some really great feedback so thanks!!
